Award:Pioneer announces awards received for THX-certified DVD player and audio components at CES'99

Long Beach, CA. Pioneer Electronics has announced details of four awards that its newest audio components earned at the 1999 Consumer Electronics Show in January.

Leading the parade were three Innovations awards from CEMA (Consumer Electronics Manufacturers Association) and the ISDA (Industrial Designers Society of America for Design and Engineering).

Innovations awards went to the Elite Reference Loudspeaker System series (TZ-F700, TZ-C700 and TZS700), a new home theater speaker line that features unique cosmetics that blend into any environment; the AVM-P505R car system, with its hideaway main unit featuring an RDS tuner and 4-channel high power speaker outputs, and a choice of two monitors to expand to a full-blown "Visual Audio" system; and the Elite DV-09 THX Reference DVD Player, which is notable as the first DVD player on the market to achieve THX certification.

The DV-09 player was also honored with a "Golden Plug Award" from E-Town, honoring the DVD component as "Best Product in its Category."
